Are your student-athletes up for a challenge this summer? We’re pleased to announce Scholastic Steam and the Scholastic Team Challenge as part of the 2010 Steamboat Classic. This is a great opportunity for your student-athletes to get involved in one of the Peoria-area’s premier community/sports events and to compete against other student-athletes from around the area. This year’s Steamboat Classic will be run on Saturday, June 19.
Each year, the Steamboat Classic draws elite athletes from around the world – and this year will be no different. The 2010 race will feature many top runners from around the world!
We hope you’ll encourage your student-athletes to participate in the Steamboat Classic. We’ve introduced a special low entry fee for Scholastic Steam. We’ve also added the Scholastic Team Challenge with 4 person teams - 4 High School Girls, 4 High School Boys and Co-ed with 2 High School Girls and 2 High School Boys. (NOTE: recently graduating seniors are eligible to participate in the Scholastic Team Challenge.)
Whether these student-athletes are experienced runners or participate in other sports, we welcome them to join us for friendly competition and demonstrate school spirit. All your student-athlete needs to do is to complete the special Scholastic Steam Application form and submit with her/his entry fee.
